Getting Started
Use Qualtrics for legitimate research, academic, and/or business surveys and use free service tools for non-critical data collection, such as Microsoft Forms or Google Forms (sign in with your @tamu.edu account).
Your college or department’s designated contact must create your account before you use Qualtrics. Review our best practices to understand the security features to use in Qualtrics.
Log in to tamu.qualtrics.com after your account is created.
Request
Students interested in using Qualtrics for independent research, such as thesis or dissertation research, and who are not enrolled in one of the colleges listed above, should contact the Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Evaluation at survey@tamu.edu to request an account.
Cost
Texas A&M University centrally funds the usage of Qualtrics for its faculty, staff, and students. However, the university is charged per survey response. Please limit your Qualtrics use to legitimate research, academic, and/or business surveys.Service Details
Qualtrics provides data protection and functionality that meets university security requirements, including the ability to limit multiple submissions and securely analyze responses.
Data Restrictions
Some types of data are not allowed in Qualtrics. Learn more about the types of data restricted from use.
- FERPA Restrictions: Only authorized administrators may be provided FERPA-protected student data for targeted surveys. Please ensure your Train Traq: 11012: FERPA training is up to date. To receive access, contact qualtrics@tamu.edu and submit your Train Traq transcript with the course Train Traq: 11012: FERPA completed within the last 2 years and your legitimate business purpose for this request.
- HIPAA Restrictions: HIPAA data collection is restricted to the Health Science Center through a Qualtrics Business Associate Agreement. For further clarification, contact qualtrics@tamu.edu.
