Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Overview
Texas A&M’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows secure off-campus access to university network resources. VPN connections encrypt traffic, enhance privacy, and provide access to services restricted to on-campus use.

Getting Started
To connect, use the Cisco Secure client. You'll need to log in to the VPN using your NetID along with Duo two-factor authentication. If you're authenticating with Duo via phone call, there are specific steps you need to follow for VPN phone call authentication.

Service Details
The VPN service creates an encrypted connection from your device to Texas A&M’s campus network, enabling access to campus-restricted systems and applications from off-campus locations.

Guidelines
If your network access is restricted to TAMU ranges (128.194.0.0/16 or 165.91.0.0/16), include 172.31.0.0/16 to allow VPN users. VPN traffic will resolve to tamu.edu domain names.
Data Restrictions
Confidential and sensitive data may be accessed via VPN with caution. Users must comply with university data handling policies.
