Universal Identification Number (UIN)
Overview
A Universal Identification Number (UIN) is a unique identifier assigned to applicants, employees, and affiliates of Texas A&M University. It replaces Social Security numbers for managing permanent records and secure access to university services.

Your UIN can be found on the bottom right of your Texas A&M ID card.
Service Details
The UIN is used in place of Social Security numbers to maintain secure identification across Texas A&M systems. It is used by:
- Former students (from Fall 1985 onward) to access academic records and order transcripts via Howdy
- Current and former employees to access services such as HRConnect and TrainTraq via the Single Sign On (SSO) system
- Various university systems that require identity verification

Guidelines
- Protect your UIN as personally identifiable information (PII)
- Do not share your UIN except where officially required by the university
- UINs must be handled securely and not disclosed improperly
