Overview

Secondary NetID accounts are individual accounts used to access systems requiring elevated privileges. These accounts are linked to a primary NetID and are deactivated when the individual is no longer affiliated with Texas A&M.

Getting Started

Use the Proxy Account Management Tool to manage special accounts like Secondary NetIDs.

Request

Texas A&M employees must request secondary NetIDs by completing a Secondary NetID Request Form.

Student system administrators must grant system access separately.

Service Details

  • Separate NetID for elevated privilege access, ensures separation of privilege-based access
  • Tied to a primary NetID and deactivated when the user leaves the university
  • Individual IT administrators grant system-level access and not automatically provisioned
  • Managed via Proxy Account Management Tool

Guidelines

  • Use only for administrative or special access needs
  • Do not use as a personal NetID substitute
  • Follow university IT policy for account usage and security
