Rechargeable Battery Recycling

Overview

Texas A&M Environmental Health & Safety provides a rechargeable battery recycling program for select battery types found in small electronics.

Getting Started

To participate in the recycling program, ensure your batteries meet the accepted types listed below.

Service Details

Non-rechargeable batteries such as alkaline and lithium are not accepted.

Accepted battery types include:

• Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH)
• Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd)
• Lithium Ion (Li-ion)
• Small Sealed Lead (Pb)

These are typically found in devices like:

• Cell phones
• Cordless phones and tools
• Laptops and PDAs
• Two-way radios
• Camcorders and remote control toys
