Duress/Panic Button
Overview
Texas A&M Technology Services, in collaboration with the University Police Department (UPD), offers installation and maintenance of duress/panic buttons for approved campus buildings and departments. Once active, these buttons silently alert UPD to dispatch assistance immediately.

Getting Started
To initiate service, contact University Police at 979.845.2345 to request an application form. After UPD approval, complete a Duress Button Service Order for installation. Technology Services will coordinate the setup with Siemens. The button is only active after successful installation, programming, and testing.
Request
- Contact UPD for approval and submit the "Alarm/Security System Information" form.
- Submit a Duress Button Service Order to tcom-request@tamu.edu
- Siemens will integrate the button with fire/security panels.
- Technology Services will test and activate the button once installation is complete.

*Your first bill will include Technology Services' installation, parts and materials costs, the initial monthly service costs, as well as the Siemens installation costs.
Monthly charges for Duress/Panic Buttons are now centrally funded by Texas A&M University for university business units (excludes service centers and auxiliary units). These monthly charges will not be billed to your business unit. For details about central funding, visit our billing changes page.
Service Details
The service includes coordinated installation, integration with fire/security systems, and ongoing maintenance. The system connects to the Texas A&M Radio Room, which is staffed 24/7 to dispatch UPD when activated.

Guidelines
- Panic buttons must not be moved or tampered with after installation
- Departments should coordinate annual testing with Technology Services
