800-MHz Radio System
Overview
Texas A&M operates a Motorola MotoTRBO 800-MHz trunked radio system available to all university departments. The system supports handheld, mobile, and base station radios with excellent coverage across campus and much of Brazos County.

Getting Started
All radios must be compatible with the proprietary 800-MHz system. There is a monthly airtime charge per month per radio for using the system.
Radios must be purchased from Texas Communications. Pease contact Kris Kram at kkram@texascom.com or 979-255-8010 for pricing and availability. Once the radios have been received and programmed, Texas Communications will direct you to fill out the Service Request Form and schedule a pickup time for the equipment.

Service Details
The 800-MHz trunked system transparently shares many channels among users, restricting communication to designated talk groups. Coverage includes much of Brazos County, with expansion planned at RELLIS.
